Founded by Dr. John Thomas, PCC is a group of mental health professionals dedicated to providing the highest quality of psychological and soul care in the Greater Lynchburg, VA Area.  We are an affiliate of Advanced Psychotherapeutics in Forest, VA.  

PCC treats a wide array of adolescent, adult, couple, and family problems.  We specialize in sex therapy and sex addiction therapy—including betrayed spouses.

Dr. Thomas is the found of PCC, LLC.  He is a Professor in the Department of Counselor Education and Family Studies at Liberty University.  He has been working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families for 38 years with a wide-range of problems.

Austin is known for his calm presence, humorous conversational style, and insatiable curiosity. As a clinician he functions from one fundamental axiom, people are not problems to be solved, they are stories to be told and pieces of art to be understood. In practice, Austin strives to help clients build meaningful lives as they navigate the anxieties, pathologies, and realities of existence.

Jennifer A. Shockley, MA, MA

Resident in Counseling

Ms. Shockley is a Retired Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force, possessing over 20 years of military experience, which includes the provision of medical services to service members and their families. Ms. Shockley currently works with children, adolescents, adults, and couples addressing various mental health issues.

 

Aziz Ibrahim, MTS, MA

Resident in Counseling

Mr. Ibrahim primarily provides therapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, and groups who have been diagnosed with, or are experiencing symptoms consistent with, a range of mental health conditions. Some of his areas of focus include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, developmental disorders, and personality disorders.
