Fees and Insurance

Insurance agreements and the cost of services is based on those approved and assigned by Advanced Psychotherapeutics.

Insurance

Clients may choose to use insurance to cover services partially or fully. Using insurances requires that the counselor believes the client meets criteria for at least one diagnosis from the Diagnostical and Statistical Manual—Edition 5 (DSM-5). Those clients who do not meet criteria for a diagnosis will not be able to use insurance. On the other hand, having a diagnosis will be become part of a client’s permanent record with the insurance company. As such, the diagnosis will follow you and you have limited the level of anonymity. Typically, insurance companies do not pay for more than one counseling service per week. Check with your insurance company.

Fees

• • Therapy:
    • Traditional Therapy: An individual, couple, or family session [45 to 50 minutes] is $125.
    • A Double Session: A double session [90 to100 minutes] is $250. Research indicates that clients who use double sessions achieve desired outcomes more quickly and it is more cost-effective.
    • Group Therapy: Sex Addict Groups, Betrayed Partner Groups, Anger Management Groups, and others [90 to 120 minutes] range from $50 or $65
    • Intensive Therapy: Intensive therapy services are offered on a case-by-case basis and depend on counselor availability and client ability to pay. Typically. an intensive may involve a Friday evening and fully day on Saturday. Occasionally, intensives can be scheduled on other days.
    • Mobile Intensives: Mobile Intensives provide the same services as Intensive Therapy except the services are provided at the client’s home or other agreed upon location. The cost of Mobile Intensive services are $3,600 per day plus expenses [e.g., airfare, milage, car rental, lodging, meals]. For each day of Mobile Therapy, there is an additional cost to cover the days of travel. For example: 1 Day of Mobile: 2 Days of travel and 1 Day of Counseling is $10,800 plus expenses. 2 Day Mobile Intensive includes 2 days of travel and 2 days of therapy is $14,400.
  • Substance Abuse Evaluations:
    • Professional substance use evaluations are offered by fully credential substance abuse counselors. These evaluations are often mandatory. The cost of an evaluation if $700 which includes individual assessment sessions and standardized testing. The cost includes a written report or letter if required.
  • Supervision:
    • Individual supervision fees are $125 per hour. Those students or residents who partner with someone [triadic supervision] can slip the cost.
    • Group supervision fees are $60 for a 90-minute session.
