“There are two extremes to avoid: being completely absorbed in your pain and being distracted by so many things that you stay far away from the wound you want to heal.”
Henri J.M. Nouwen

We work with people of all faiths and those who do not endorse any. Our specialty is providing a biblically-based worldview for those who request that approach.

Doctrinally, we hold that man and woman are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and endowed with Divine attributes. Afterwards, God positioned humanity in a place of distinction in the created order (Psalms 8:6-7).

We believe that Scriptures are inspired and without error (1 Timothy 3:16-17). Though Scripture is not written as a systematic theology, through proper exegesis it is possible to discover the major beliefs about God, humans, the world, and their relations to one another that Scripture affirms.

PCC therapists affirm that Adam, the first man, willfully disobeyed God, bringing sin and death into the world (Romans 5:15-19). As a result, all persons are sinners from conception, which is evidenced in their willful acts of sin; and they are therefore subject to eternal punishment, under the just condemnation of a holy God.

Out of His love for us, Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12) offered Himself as a sacrifice by dying on the cross in full substitution and payment for the sins of all, was buried, and on the third day, He arose physically from the dead and ascended into Heaven where He now intercedes for all believers (Romans 8:34).

Each person can be saved only through Christ’s death on the cross (Romans 5:8), through repentance of sin and by faith alone in Him as Savior (Romans 10:10, 13; 1 Corinthians 15:22; Ephesians 2:8-9). The believer is declared righteous, born again by the Holy Spirit, turned from sin, and assured of heaven (2 Timothy 1:9. PCC counselors also contend the Holy Spirit indwells all who are born again, conforming them to the likeness of Jesus Christ. This is a process completed only in Heaven. Every believer is responsible to live in obedience to the Word of God in separation from sin (Titus 2:11-12).

Finally, we support the local church, under the discipline of the Bible and the lordship of Christ. The church functions through the ministry of gifts given by the Holy Spirit to each believer where members can fellowship in community through encouragement (1 Corinthians 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 5:14; Colossians 3:13; James 5:16
